Find a Piano

South Florida

An acoustic piano ensures the best musical education. There are 3 main types of Pianos; Concert Grand Piano (11 feet), Baby Grand (5 feet), Upright Piano (2 feet). Different models will vary in size but some of the best brands to look for are Baldwin, Steinway, and Yamaha. There are many stores in South Florida that offer great quality instruments so visit your local piano store and find the piano that feels right for you! Here is a list of a few Piano Retail Stores in the areas of Palm Beach, Wellington, Boca Raton, Delray, and Jupiter. When you visit be sure to mention “JM PIANO” for special offers!

The unique tone and feel of a Steinway make these pianos a favorite among musicians.  At the Boca Raton gallery, you will find new and used Essex, Boston, and Steinway Pianos. Many people think you need to spend a fortune to afford a Steinway but the prices here can be just as competitive as other dealers so make sure you swing by and you might find a great deal. If you are looking for the best piano around, Steinway is the best in town.

Chafin Music Center

608 N Dixie Hwy, Lake Worth, FL 33460

Chafin is one of the smallest local music stores but it has been around for over 60 years! It offers a decent selection of pre-owned pianos at negotiable prices. They even have a program where you can rent an acoustic piano before making an investment. I recommend this store for any parent who wants to “test” and see if their child is ready for music lessons.

Digital Piano

Technology can be found everywhere, especially in musical instruments. A digital piano can never compare to a real acoustic piano but it does have the benefit of being portable, lightweight, and relatively cheap. There are many types of digital piano’s but it is important to understand your goals before making a decision. Do you plan to just play music in a band or would you like to perform classical music at concerts? If you are leaning towards difficult performances then I would advise you to stay away from anything digital. The keys on most digital piano’s are not weighted and feel completely different than a real piano. This hinders proper development in finger strength, tone, and technique. For young children, all of the many buttons and sounds are easy distractions that take away precious practice time withholding them from a proper education. All things considered, if you have decided to purchase a digital piano then the Yamaha P-125 would be the best all-around choice. It has weighted keys, speakers, and additional outputs including MIDI. It has everything you would need as a novice or a professional and you can find it online for a great price!
